REAL NAME: Billy Martinez
ORIGIN: Billy Martinez led a mostly normal childhood. He was the firstborn in a middle-class family. He attended school regularly. His grades were decent. He had a few friends. For all intents and purposes there was nothing remarkable about him in any way. Until he was hit by lightning. For some reason Billy’s body absorbed the energy of the lighting strike, changing him forever and transforming the unassuming high-school senior into something else entirely.

POWERS: Static has the ability to fill his body with all the force of a lighting strike, contain it, and unleash it in various forms. The lower he contains the power, the more vicious the release. The special containment bands (created by Steven J. Beno) that he wears on his limbs help him to control the power and direct it without overcoming him. Before the bands were created Billy was unleashing the powers in ways he never intended, causing unintentional harm to anyone standing in his way.
